La última noche con mi hermano de Alfredo Sanzol cuenta la historia de Nagore, una mujer a la que diagnostican un cáncer, y su hermano Alberto, un hombre que no acepta la enfermedad de su hermana y que tendrá que aprender a aceptar su muerte. Alberto y Ainhoa tienen dos hijos Nahia y Oier, y Ainhoa tiene un hermano, Claudio. Esta es una familia de tres parejas de hermanos con vivencias muy diferentes sobre la hermandad. Una familia en la que Nagore, la mujer que vive sola, es un eje esencial.
El duelo por la pérdida de una hermana o de un hermano es el que socialmente está menos acompañado. Es cierto que hay muchas maneras de vivir la hermandad y también es cierto que en muchas ocasiones se trata de vivencias en las que se instala la frialdad y la distancia, pero también es cierto que, en muchas ocasiones, la hermandad constituye un hecho esencial en la vida de las personas y la pérdida de la otra parte es una amputación real del ser.
