Andrea Jiménez, creadora de Casting Lear, investiga los cruces entre ficción y realidad, teatro y performance en esta irreverente adaptación de Rey Lear de William Shakespeare, abriendo un espacio de encuentro con todo una generación de actores y hombres para reflexionar sobre la paternidad, el amor y el perdón. Premio Max 2025 al Mejor espectáculo de teatro y a la Mejor adaptación.
“Mi padre es Lear, pero nunca ha entrado en un teatro. Yo soy Cordelia. Y soy directora de teatro. Como ella, voy a buscar a Lear, voy a atreverme a mirarlo y voy a intentar perdonar. Y lo voy a hacer desde un escenario. Cada noche, un actor distinto, será Lear, será mi padre, será un posible padre, uno que sí quiera sentarse en un teatro a conversar.
Esta versión-simulacro de Rey Lear aspira a ser una puerta abierta para pensar cómo nos relacionamos con nuestros padres, los biológicos, pero también los metafóricos, incluido el mismo William Shakespeare. Es una autoficción a partir de un clásico o un clásico autoficcionado, y ojalá ninguna de las dos cosas. Es una pieza sobre el origen, sobre cómo lo que vino antes nos persigue aunque queramos ignorarlo. Sobre cómo nos construyen quienes nos preceden. Sobre cómo inventar una vida que te pertenezca sin olvidar el pasado. Sobre cómo imaginar otros finales posibles”.
