En una finca vacía, un burro atado a una estaca le cuenta su vida a su sombra mientras se acerca un incendio forestal. Se inicia así un viaje tragicómico, divertido, tierno, poético y profundo que explora los grandes textos clásicos sobre el asno y la intensa relación entre el animal y el ser humano.
La música en directo y el teatro más puro acompañan a este asno sin nombre, de seis mil años de edad, en un recorrido por sus aventuras, desventuras y peripecias a lo largo de la Grecia y la Roma clásicas, la Edad Media festiva y carnavalesca, el Siglo de Oro español e inglés, la Ilustración y la Modernidad. Un relato que lucha contra el olvido mientras se acerca el fuego. Una obra que deja huella… de pezuña.
Ay Teatro presenta una tragicomedia con música en directo inspirada en las obras maestras de la literatura que giran en torno al asno, y protagonizado por uno de los actores esenciales de la historia del teatro español.
