Lidija Zelović retrata a su familia, desplazada a los Países Bajos en 1993, cuando huyeron de su hogar en Sarajevo, devastado por la guerra. El ensayo cinematográfico de Zelovic expone la dualidad con la que viven todos los migrantes: ¿qué es el hogar? La cineasta llama la atención sobre los acontecimientos sociales y políticos disruptivos en los Países Bajos, que reconoce de su (desmembrada) Yugoslavia natal. Basándose en el archivo fílmico de su familia, Zelović alterna escenas en casa con eventos políticos en los Países Bajos, la polarización social cada vez mayor, el creciente malestar en la sociedad y la aceptación de la política radical de la ultraderecha en el centro del poder.
