Julia Holter es una compositora, intérprete y artista discográfica establecida en Los Ángeles. Su interés por los misterios sónicos la ha llevado a grabar en diversos escenarios –en su casa, al aire libre con una grabadora de campo y en estudios de grabación– así como a actuar en directo, a menudo con el foco en la voz y en el espacio entre el lenguaje y el balbuceo. La música de Holter, de múltiples capas y rica en texturas, presenta a menudo una variedad de instrumentos interpretados por un grupo de músicos creativos. En su trayectoria lleva acumulada una obra que explora la atmósfera, los impulsos de la voz y la melodía dentro de las estructuras libres de una canción.
En su último disco publicado el 22 de marzo de este año, el fluido e intuitivo Something In The Room She Moves, Holter subraya cuán vital es para ella la experimentación a la hora de expresarse.
