On the centenary of John Coltrane's birth, fellow tenor saxophonist Azar Lawrence is paying tribute to him, accompanied by three of the best musicians on the US West Coast scene. Lawrence, very close, professionally, to McCoy Tyner, Coltrane's pianist during the Impulse era, has chosen to honour the Jazz giant from the perspective he knows best: the years when “Trane” laid the foundations for the revolution that so shook up the world of Jazz with his daring, avant-garde approach.

Composer, singer and visual artist, Cécile McLorin Salvant, has established herself as one of the most unique and visionary voices in contemporary Jazz. Her artistry stems from a deep passion for storytelling and exploring the connections between Jazz, vaudeville, blues, folk traditions, theatre and baroque music. With impeccable technique, boundless imagination, luminous musicality and a wide and varied repertoire, this American artist has the capacity to easily transport us to beautiful soundscapes where emotion and theatricality live together with absolute freedom.
